Obituary of Blaga Tistskovich

BLAGA G. TISTSKOVICH, 88, of Rochester, NY, passed away on March 31 in Kingwood, TX.

Calling Hours will be held at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd., Penfield, NY 14526 on Friday, April 12 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with prayer at 6:00. 

The funeral service will be held at St. Dimitria Macedonian Orthodox Church, 234 Telephone Rd., W. Henrietta, NY 14586 on Saturday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Nino Petrov officiating. Burial will follow at Irondequoit Cemetery, 3671 Culver Rd., Irondequoit, NY 14622. 

Blaga Tistskovich was born in Brusnik, Macedonia to George and Ivana Tulevski on October 8, 1935. At age 21, she married William Tistskovich and in 1956 came to the United States.  She worked in assembly at Eastman Kodak Co. for 25 years. She enjoyed singing and dancing throughout her life. Her creative skills included crocheting and knitting. Blaga won an award from the Town of Gates for her home garden. She served on the church board and was the first president of the ladies auxiliary at St. Dimitria Macedonian Orthodox Church. She sang in the church choir many years alongside her beloved husband, Bill. She loved her grandchildren very much and was influential in their upbringing. 

Blaga is survived by her daughters, Pat Volz (Tom), June Tistskovich, Helen Demay, Christine Stifter (John);  daughter-in-law, Joyce Tiskovich; sister, Lillian Speedy; brother, Stojan Tulevski (Eva);  sisters, Dana Purdev and Luba Sekovski;  five grandsons, Frank Volz (Caroline), Bob Volz (Veronica), Zach Demay (Ashley), Alex (Erika) and Ben Stifter; great-granddaughter, Beatrice Stifter, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William P. Tistskovich; parents, George and Ivana; son, Paul Tiskovich; brother, Mile, and sister, Zora.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Dimitria Macedonian Orthodox Church, 234 Telephone Rd., W. Henrietta, NY 14586 in Blaga Tistskovich's name. 

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the caring staff of HCA Hospice and Village Green Alzheimer's Care Assisted Living, Kingwood, TX for their attentive and loving care of Blaga at the end of her life.
